HOW TO CHOOSE A DOG PHOTOGRAPHER | FREDERICK DOG PHOTOGRAPHER | PAWS-IN STUDIO

CHOOSING A DOG PHOTOGRAPHER

Dog photography is becoming more and more popular, and the sessions are so much fun. But how do you choose a photographer for your furry friend? It may seem like anyone who knows how to use a camera could be your dog’s photographer, but there’s actually a lot more to it than that.

In today’s post, I’ll be using Benson and Ruby’s adorable session.

TYPES OF DOG PHOTOGRAPHERS

When looking for a dog photographer, the first thing to look for is the type of photography you want. Some dog photographers use studios, some take your dog on location and some specialize photographing dogs at events.

If you’re looking for sunset shots of your dog on the water, you want to look for on-location dog photographers. If you want action shots of your dog at an event, your dog photographer should specialize in that type of photography. And if you love the look of colorful backdrops, you should be searching for an indoor studio dog photographer.

STUDIO DOG PHOTOGRAPHY

At Paws-In Studio, I specialize in shots of your pup indoors. I use studio lighting to freeze action, colorful backdrops to customize your look, and fun props like glasses and bubbles.

EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS

Having experience with dogs is a must for a dog photographer. You may have a wonderful family photographer that you think could give you amazing dog photography, but if they are not working with dogs every single day, they likely won’t have the tricks and patience necessary to work with your fur baby. Your studio session should give you a variety of shots.

FUN EXPRESSIONS

Your dog photographer should know how to get different expressions out of your dog.
