I hear from potential clients all the time that they are waiting for their puppy to “calm down” before they try to book a photography session. As much as I can understand this thought, it’s actually completely unnecessary for puppies to reach a calmer age before photographing them at my studio.

Some of the best photographs of puppies are the ones in which they are jumping, spinning, pouncing, trying to catch treats, and wrestling toys.
Puppies Change Quickly
Puppies, just like human babies, change super quickly over even a few months. I’d hate for clients to miss out on photographing that adorable puppy phase by waiting for what they hope will be a calmer dog.
